Dex Flix's Film Review "LION" 2017

The story of Lion is a definite film to watch and maybe shed a tear, as Dev Patel plays a boy who is lost and alone when his older brother goes out to hustle the trains to help support the income of the family and never returns. The young boy wakes up realises he's on a train miles away from his home and cant seem to find his way back. He's then adopted by an Australian Parents and still fights to remember his roots once as an adult and then emotions come flooding back of his home town. A special film that comes alive with Dev's great acting skills and young supporting actor Sunny Pawar.

Dex Flix's Film Review "HACKSAW RIDGE" 2017

Imagine going to war and not firing a single arms weapon and you want to go and save lives?, well this very story happened in Okinawa during the World War 2. Desmond T Doss wanted to go to war believing he would go to make a difference and this exceptional true story shows courage and commitment to stick to what you believe in and see it through. Sheer honour and respect was made for this film as Andrew Garfield plays the incredible story of what its Hacksaw Ridge. If you love the war films or even the computer games such as Call of Duty or Battlefield a definite must see!

Dex Flix's Film Review "JACKIE" 2017

This film gives you an insight to the first lady of the assassinated president JF Kennedy. Natalie Portman who portrays the biography of Jackie after the life changing nightmare. How she coped with the publicity, the stress of leaving the place she once called home and arranging a send off for her husband. Fighting through her grief wasn't easy and to a point Mrs Kennedy felt she had lost her faith. She battles on to define a legacy of her husband that no one will forget in a hurry.

Dex Flix's Film Review "MANCHESTER BY THE SEA" 2017

Casey Affleck's performance in this is stunning tale of loneliness, love, regret and loss as he plays the character Lee Chandlier who has to take on the responsibility of guardian duties to his nephew, as well as fighting his own demons of the past. The film gives you a sense of compassion towards what the character has to endure and how he tries to overome them. If you love a story with emotion this one is for you!

Dex Flix's Film Review "xXx: RETURN OF XANDER CAGE " 2017

With this instalment of xXx, Vin Diesel is forced to come out of retirement from the xXx programme and find the pandora box that possesses a sinful weapon of mass destruction, but there seems to be an inside man who has other intentions . Xander Cage recruits another fearless team to get to the bottom of this twisted plot. The cast for me was well rounded with Bollywood star Deepika Padukone, Asian martial arts stars Donnie Yen & Tony Jaa as well with addtional Cameo's from Ice Cube and Football star Neymar. The film for me was entertaining and nothing more. Overall i felt the film lacked a real story to appreciate the action packed scenes provided

Dex Flix's Film Review "LA LA LAND" 2017

La La Land was simply magical experience from the actors Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling. A musical spectacle that gives the viewer hope and dreams sprinkled with a cute romance. If you love Grease or any musical sing along from past films such as Singing In The Rain, Mr Poppins, The Sound of Music, then this definitely down your street. Director Damien Chazelle's direction in Whiplash was fabulous and capture the tension between student and teacher. He has delivered again in this film and i must say his team should be proud of the efforts they did with the scene where Emma is doing her dance and they pan out to ryan playing the keyboard in the club that was brilliant!

Dex Flix's Film Review "ASSASSIN'S CREED" 2017

Adaptation of the popular game Assassin's Creed was a hit amongst the fans but no so convinced by the critics. Starring Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard & Jeremy Irons. The film starts to build up speed when Mr Fassbender begins to accept he is a descendant of a secret Assassin community and becomes the Master, leading a new generation of Assassins to fight against the Templar who were their rivals over centuries!

Dex Flix's Film Review "SILENCE" 2017

First film kicked off for 2017 was Silence, starring Andrew Garfield, Adam Driver & Liam Neeson. Cutting straight to the chase I personally didn't like the film although some may say its an actual Masterpiece. For those who can't sit through movies that seem quite dull at times for 2 and half hours you might just struggle to keep up with this one. Director Martin Scorsese may be up for many film awards despite my personal reviews but then again its is we the general public who has to pay and sit through this, so let me save you a trip and say its ok but i won't be going to see that one ever!
